The CB&A team is headed to Austin for the annual TCEA conference to network and discover the latest and greatest in ed tech. Beyond the conference, Austin offers a vibrant nightlife, enjoyable entertainment and finger-licking good food. After the show floor has cleared and you’ve tweeted enough hashtags to make your head spin, join us in the city to get your fill of food, drink and entertainment.
Drink –
Regardless if you’re a cocktail drinker or not, everyone will find something at drink.well. Here they specialize in contemporary cocktails and a commitment to kinship. In addition to their cocktails, the drink menu includes an array of beers and an extensive wine list. And we’re told the homemade Twinkies pair fabulously with just about any drink on the menu.
Eat –
Where is the best place in Austin to get some real Texas barbecue? It’s at Franklin Barbecue. Taking barbecue to the next level, the locals know it as not only being a meal, but an event. Franklin serves food by the pound or by the sandwich, and is famous for their homemade pies. You might have to wait in line, but Franklin’s has gotten some rave reviews and is said to be worth every last bite!
Listen –
After eating and drinking you might want to get out and do some exploring of the city. Live music is a staple in Austin, and there’s no better way to end the evening than with good music. Whether you prefer jazz (Victory Grill), alternative (The Carousel Lounge) or country (The Continental Club) you will find it in Austin. Also, don’t be surprised if you stop along the way to listen to live street performers and musicians – they bring the city to life!
