The People Behind the PR: Saul Hafenbredl

By June 13, 2012May 7th, 2019No Comments

Each week we’ll feature a Q&A with one member of our dynamic team. CB&A is an agency that values its people, and we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about the people behind the PR.

Saul is an Account Coordinator at CB&A. He joined the team back in July 2011.

Dogs or cats? I love animals in general, but dogs win this match-up. I’m the proud dad of wonderfully affectionate and needy Yellow Lab named Garrett.

Morning or night person? I aspire to be a morning person, and I’m making some progress.

What’s the best PR advice that fits inside a tweet? “Give more than you take; be useful.” Or, “Measure twice, cut once.” The second bit also works well when installing new carpet.

If days suddenly lasted 25 hours, what you do with the extra hour? I would probably try to read a bit more.

Which book have you read recently? Two especially good reads:  The Audacity to Win and The Singing Wilderness.

What was your favorite subject in elementary school? Does phys. ed. count? Well, I also enjoyed writing and reading classes. I was also pretty good at math as a kid.

What’s the most-played song on your iPod right now? The Avett Brothers and Mason Jennings are always near the top. And Taylor Swift. Yep.

If you weren’t in PR, what would you be doing? I’ve wanted to work in PR for a long time, so I haven’t really thought about it much. But I would probably be working on the other side of the desk, so to speak, as a journalist.

What was the first thing you learned to cook? Spaghetti noodles.

Favorite condiment? Exotic, spicy mustards. Ranch dressing is also good on most things.

What’s your favorite sport and team? I back all of the Wisconsin sports teams, but my favorite team is whoever happens to be playing against the Cubs and Bears.

If you could have dinner with your favorite literary character or author, who would you choose? Hemingway. Although he probably drank more dinners than he ate.

UW-Madison: great university or greatest university? All things considered, I believe UW provides an experience that’s pretty tough to match. I’m a proud Badger and will be forever grateful for my education and the Wisconsin Experience.
