The winners of the 28th Annual Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence were recently announced and we are proud to say that four of our clients were honored.
The awards are sponsored by Tech & Learning magazine. This year 78 educational hardware, software, network, and web products and services were recognized for their enriching contributions to learning. The products were tested, and winners selected, by more than 30 educators, members of the New York City Department of Education, faculty from the University of Michigan, and top Tech & Learning advisors.
Each year, nominees are organized into two awards categories: New Products and Best Upgraded Products. Among the “rookies of the year,” or New Product winners, are:
- AutismPro, for its eponymous, flagship product, AutismPro. A suite of online tools, AutismPro, provides online professional development, case management, and evidence-based classroom resources to help educators and school staff members effectively manage and teach a district’s increasing number of students with autism.
- Discovery Education, for its online service Discovery Education Science for Oregon, Middle School and Discovery Education Science for Oregon, Grades K-5/6. Featuring up-to-date, standards-based videos, virtual labs, simulations, ebooks, text passages, and more, Discovery Education Science covers the physical, earth and space, and life sciences.
Under the “Best Upgraded Product” category, Tech & Learning honored products that have been significantly revised or updated to meet changing needs in technology. Think of these as Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back; great sequels to an already illustrious franchise. Awards of Excellence went to:
- Lightspeed Systems, for Web Access Manager (with My Big Campus). Web Access Manager provides comprehensive Web filtering based on an education-specific URL database. One of the many tools Web Access Manager comes equipped with is My Big Campus, a versatile collaborative website that allows teachers to organize their classrooms, share approved video content and other documents with students, set up discussions and homework assignments, and more – all in a safe, student-friendly online environment.
- Key Curriculum Press, for its popular The Geometer’s Sketchpad Version 5. Effective for students in elementary school through college, The Geometer’s Sketchpad Version 5 offers students a tangible, visual way to learn mathematics that increases their engagement and understanding.
We are proud of our clients’ successes, and would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to them for a fantastic job-well-done. The recognition is well deserved.
